AI Overviews (Google)

AI Overviews are Google's AI-generated answer summaries that appear at the top of search results pages. Formerly known as Search Generative Experience (SGE), AI Overviews use Google's Gemini model to synthesize information from multiple sources and present a direct answer to the user's query. They represent Google's entry into AI-powered search and are changing how traditional search results work.

AI Overviews are significant because they combine the massive reach of Google Search with the AI-generated answer format. Unlike standalone AI search engines that require users to switch platforms, AI Overviews appear within the Google results page that billions of people already use daily.
